Joints thorique EPDM
Bonjour
Ayant quelques difficultés a trouver des joints théorique de section 6,2x2,4 pour des petites vannes gaz je me pose la questions si les joints en EPDM puissent convenir pour le gaz voire vapeur également .
Merci
@+ Bruno

Dear GAZOU........I read this message below from your French WEB site, however I can never post a response.....
I would like to answer @+Bruno [Message by Opale62 on Sun 29 Mar 2015 - 19] as follows
O-ring sizing [theoretical section] 6, 2 x 2, 4 is non standard
A Standard BS2-108 o-ring is 6.02 x 2.62
I have 48 years as hydraulic engineer for Marine, Department of Defence [Navy] and Steel industry before retirement
BS2-108 is slightly smaller in inner diameter and marginally larger in cross section...so will stretch for the larger diameter requirement and thus also the stretch reduces the cross section
BS2-108 are also readily available in elastomer EPDM [80 Shore A hardness]
EPDM elastomer is compatible with steam to 150 degrees C
EPDM elastomer is also compatible with butane/propane gas to 100 degrees C
Could you please forward my message on to @+Bruno
My landline e-mail is au if needed
Derek : if needed

Hello
Having some difficulties to find seals theoretical section 6, 2 x 2, 4 for small gas valves I ask myself the questions if the seals in EPDM can be suitable for gas or steam also.
Thank you
@+ Bruno
